Transcending the Figure: visual art in the public sector.

Graphite on paper, 1.2/1.5m, 2016 These are four works from a series of figurative drawings of people who work in the Emergency Services in full uniform responding to Classical poses. The drawings are made using graphite on paper and measure 120/75c and I plan to use these drawings to create a series of sculptures. Working with the Photographer Jon Turner we visited Fire Stations, Ambulance Centres, the Mounted Police, the RNLI, the Coast Guard and had studio visits of people in the Emergency Services. I worked on the drawings in my studio using the photos selected by myself and participants.
