transformational forces (energies of decline)

This mixed media painting is another iteration of my bright&well series, exploring wellbeing and the built environment.  The shapes of buildings here are elements taken from a controversial new town centre mixed residential and commercial development in the heart of Farnham, Surrey.  The piece mixes acrylic paint with overprinted collaged papers, and includes text taken from my long poem ‘The Bright Well’: ‘perhaps these transformational forces/ could be celebrated for their grace?/ might these energies of decline be the lifeline?’
