Uni-Corn-Utopia

By  Lesley Guy 2017
UniCornUtopia is an installation created for the dining room of number 8 Victoria Rd, consisting of three elements: A sculptural horn, an overabundant cake, and a painting - a portrait of the artists and residents as unicorns. These messy items, all painted/decorated, with the help of the Turner family, in a new-age rainbow unicorn aesthetic, promise a collective harmony but don’t really fit in the space. The horn doesn’t sound, the cake doesn’t look appetising and the painting is poorly rendered. You might find us beautiful, or difficult to look at. You might wonder if we are being ironic you may question our taste.. With these objects TOTALLER offers up a cornucopia of artistic utopian vision that is just out of reach. Made with Chris Fielder as TOTALLER
