Unruly

By Lucy Brown 2017
Unruly is from a series of sculptures exploring the taboo subject of female body/facial hair using make-up cases and tools which have an association with the mouth, upper lip and chin area. Hair removal is an attempt to take control of one’s own monstrous, out-of-control body. This is often in-vane as more unwanted hair grows…. The Artists own hair in ‘Unruly’ is now out growing the foundation powder mesh and suggestive of other bodily regions.
