Unseen Things and Woven Systems Congregating at the Edge of the World

Collage 1800mm x 1800mm with additional basketry. The large woven piece contains out-of-focus imagery of flora and fauna and some images of the everyday. It deals with the search for an aspect of quantum mechanics which until recently had been fruitless. How scientists, ecologists, philosophers and environmentalists are looking for a way to interpret the world differently and build a better future. Repeating and mirrored images are woven into the newsprint scaffold. Out-of-focus images illustrate the things we can’t see but which we know are there, the space between what we can see and what we can’t see. The newsprint and magazine pages confirm the relationship between people and the environment and includes the less tangible aspects of life: ideas, knowledge, information, fear, joy, hatred etc.
