Vestiges — First Clay Forms, September 2026

These small air-dry clay forms are the first three-dimensional studies for my ongoing Vestiges project. Made at the beach hut, they explore hollows, openings, pierced forms, small cave-like interiors and ideas of shelter and enclosure. I am interested in how a fragile form can hold traces of lived experience, and how absence or emptiness can itself become a kind of trace. These are experimental maquettes rather than finished sculptures, allowing the project to move from drawing and print into three dimensions.
