The old settlements a layering of knowledge and understanding. The picture shows Petester (translation ‘Village of the Picts’) which was finally abandoned in the mid 1970’s. As issues of resilience, wellbeing and sustainability assume new urgencies the ‘Usehistories of place become guide and waymarker.
