We Are All Queen Esther, Mixed Media Painting

Painted in Spring 2023, this painting is called we are all Queen Esther. Her story is that she married the Persian King and saved the Jews from execution. This is a true historic event, not just a biblical story.

At the time of painting this artwork, I didn't know that October 7 and consequently the reemergence of antisemitism would happen. As a Jewish person I now feel it every day.

Image Description for Accessibility:

An intricate and vibrant mixed-media painting, titled "We are all queen Esther," features a central figure wearing an elaborate, ornate mask or headdress adorned with sequins and glitter. The central face has prominent red lips and exaggerated features. Surrounding this figure are other masked or skull-like faces, also richly decorated with glitter, beads, and painted details. The overall composition is highly textured and colourful, with a dominant palette of reds, yellows, blues, and metallic accents, creating a festive yet complex visual narrative.
