The original painting, Dex Simultaneously crafted the painting and the music together, seamlessly intertwining the two mediums.

As he translated his ideas onto canvas, the composition of the music unfolded in tandem, resulting in a harmonious fusion of visual and auditory storytelling.

Informed by the tumultuous events of 2019-2020, Dex initially crafted the original painting and music to encapsulate the prevailing sentiments of the time: a world grappling with the repercussions of a global pandemic and societal turbulence.

Through the work, he aimed to evoke a range of emotions, from the palpable sense of helplessness and anger to the emergence of new perspectives catalysed by introspection and learning.

Now, four years after the events, Dex Hannon revisited his original painting, realising that it had more to say.
