We Said No #01. Hand embroidery on cotton 2018 This piece is a response to Brexit and how the North of Ireland and Scotland said no. It includes key political figures and depicts Ireland and Scotland together and free from Britain. This is an ongoing personal project regarding Brexit and what will happen next to Ireland and the UK. As an Irish citizen from the North, the departure from the EU will affect Ireland both North and South with talks of a soft/hard border, which will not only damage the economic but may bring back the violence from the 90s. For this project i am focusing on Ireland's and Uk's political leaders and taking their key quotes/thoughts regarding brexit.
