Where Real Life Dwells, 2014

By  Heather Ross 2014
A moving image work, approx 16 mins in length. This work documents my examination of the term "virtual window," as referred to by Anne Friedberg in 'The Virtual Window- From Albert to Microsoft.'. Using a range of old slides, digital photographs, glass, re-filming projections, projected objects, reflections and shadow play, this film examines the "virtual" space of representation, in relation to painting, photography and the moving image. The work was shown as part of a group show entitled, 'Taint' curated By Hannah Campion and Katya Sivers, 2014.
