In the wake of Black Lives Matter i wanted to paint a portrait that in essence is a deconstructed woman of colour, even with pieces taken away from her still stands up for herself and her beliefs.
I wanted to the piece to be fierce and her adorning afro centric crown is intertwined with Black Panthers.
