Yankee Doodle

Mouth blown flashed glass, sand etched, firepolished and slumped, 26cm diameter, 6cm deep. The design for this bowl is taken from an antique metal Polyphon musical box disc. It is the first in a series of bowls I am making on this theme. I am interested in musical box discs as objects which use a graphic analogue code to generate popular music, and I want to illuminate them by reinterpreting them as objects in glass. Each piece carries the title of the music it represents.
