A new space for artist film
Axis Art Film Festival is our newest way of championing contemporary artists.
Axis Art Film Festival
Our online festival celebrates film and moving image as powerful and accessible forms of artistic expression.
The programme reflects our commitment to bold, thoughtful work and to creating space for artists to connect with audiences on their own terms.
- 30 Artist films showcasing diverse voices
- 7 Curated nights
- 1000s Viewers live and on demand
What to Expect
Axis Art Film Festival creates space for bold, thoughtful moving image works that challenge, question, and inspire.
You can expect thought-provoking work, meaningful conversations and a chance to experience film wherever you are.
Each edition brings together short films from across the UK and beyond, presented through themed screenings and conversations with the artists who make them.
Events are hosted live online and available on demand, making the festival accessible wherever you are.
Why We Do This
We believe artist film and moving image deserve to be seen, discussed, and celebrated on their own terms.
Our aims are:
- Showcase diverse voices in contemporary moving image.
- Connect artists and audiences through open conversation.
- Provide a platform that is independent, self-funded, and shaped by artists.
How It Works
- Screenings: Curated evenings of short films grouped around themes.
- Q&As: Live conversations with artists.
- On Demand: All screenings available to Members to watch after the event.
Festival 2025
Our first festival ran from 8–14 September 2025, with over 30 films shown across seven themed nights. To close the week, the Axis team shared our Staff Picks, the films that stayed with us the most.
What’s Next
Axis Art Film Festival will return in 2026 with a new programme of films and conversations. Watch this space for announcements.
