Group Membership
Supporting artist collectives. Backing community-led culture
Axis is home to artists at every stage of their journey — and we know many don’t work alone. From shared studios and collectives to artist-led spaces, collaboration is at the heart of how many artists work.
That’s why we’ve introduced Group Membership — a new way for artist-led groups of five or more to join Axis at a discounted rate.
This is part of our wider Membership Project: improving accessibility and investing in community-first approaches that reflect the reality of art practice.
Who it’s for
Group Membership is for artist-led collectives, shared studios, informal networks or collaborative groups with five (5) or more artists.
You can mix and match membership levels within your group — some may want Associate, others may be eligible for Professional.
We welcome artists from all backgrounds, disciplines and experiences.
Membership types and group benefits
Each group member receives the full benefits of their chosen membership tier — with a discount starting at 10% for groups of five or more.
That means:
- Associate Membership – normally £30/year, now £27/year per artist
Includes: public liability insurance, legal helpline, tailored events, and access to member resources.
- Professional Membership – normally £55/year, now £49.50/year per artist
Includes: everything in Associate, plus a public artist profile, curated exposure, and access to bursaries and mentoring.
Larger groups (e.g. 25 or more) may be eligible for a higher discount — just get in touch and we’ll work with you to find the right offer.
As a group, you may also be invited to take part in community showcases or be listed together on our site.
How to apply as a group
To get started, email us at hello@axisweb.org with:
- Subject line: Axis Group Membership
- The name of your group or space
- A short description about the group
- The names and email addresses of the artists who want to join
- The membership type each person is applying for (Associate or Professional)
Note: We ask that groups receiving the discounted rate acknowledge Axis as their chosen membership provider — whether on your website, social media, or in funding applications. It’s a simple way to support the network and grow visibility for everyone involved.
Why this matters
Axis is a self-financed charity — we don’t receive public funding, and we’re here for artists, not profit. That’s why our membership offer is rooted in care, flexibility, and mutual support.
By supporting group membership, we’re backing the networks and collectives that drive artist-led culture. This isn’t just about access — it’s about solidarity, sustainability, and the future of art in the UK.
Let’s build something better, together.
