I am an artist/researcher working across a wide range of media; from drawing and sculpture to text-works and live art events (often in the form of walks). Collaborative practice is at the core of my work – with interdisciplinary projects that use the creative methods of art and performance making to construct research enquiry. Outcomes are multi-form and engage audiences in both their process and presentation.

I am interested in work that connects people and places, uncovering stories in order to activate the overlooked and construct new narratives. I am excited by the potential of walking as a medium that holds political potential and that can blur the boundaries between art and everyday life. Projects such as Perambulator (2011-ongoing) work from an auto-ethnographic standpoint, beginning with personal experience and then expanding to include a range of participants and collaborators, the project explores gendered spaces, maternal narratives and shifting identities, inequality and mobilities. Outputs include a series of photographic works, performances and live art events, a blog, and several pieces of writing.

In 2007 I was a founding member of the Walking Artists Network, and continue to facilitate its online presence, occasional events, and a seminar series that connects those using walking as part of a creative critical practice. From 2012-2015 I was Principal Investigator on the AHRC funded networks project 'Footwork: The Walking Artists Network as mobile community' which extended the scope of the network internationally in a focussed research enquiry connecting academics, practitioners and cultural stakeholders.
