Carrie-Ann Stein

Clapham
I’m a print artist based in London with a background in theatre design and costume making.

I reconstruct imagined scenes as psychological landscapes, rooted in postmodern ideas of fragmentation, repetition, and critiques of originality. My work engages with authorship, Walter Benjamin’s concept of the ‘aura of the original,’ and the commodification and democratisation of art in the digital age. Material choices explore the intersection of labour, the handmade versus the digital, and the impermanence of materials, reflecting on themes of mortality and legacy.
