Laura M R Harrison

Carlisle
Laura lives and works in a small village in north Cumbria. She is a member of Art Crit North Cumbria and the ARG research group.

Laura M R Harrison's artwork and research explores the psychological state of not-knowing, particularly in relation to personal futures, and how not-knowing might be repurposed as a state of unbounded possibility and potential. Her current body of work draws from mysterious ancient monuments and standing stones, folklore, enigmatic forms such as Dürer's solid, and references the tools and rituals of fortune telling and divinatory practices.

Laura's practice is centred around an Installation approach, and the multisensory through a combination of video, audio, sculpture, and objects. She specialises in the use of alternative spaces for exhibitions and considers the context and space in which work is shown as an integral part of the Installation experience.
