Charlie Franklin

London
I am an artist currently based in London, working with sculpture & drawing.

I use everyday found materials, such as cardboard boxes, to make sculptures that draw on research into standing stones, ruins, and ancient sculpture.

My work is often metallic, with gilded or patinated surfaces and a pronounced texture. Echoing historical forms, these theatrical, contemporary counterpoints explore how objects claim territory and shape our lives.
