Christina (Tina) Kutter

Bodmin
I grew up in London but in 2001 I relocated to rural North Cornwall where I have lived for almost twenty-five years on a smallholding with a home studio.

My multi-disciplinary practice is an expansive, experimental and continually evolving passion that has at its core an on-going enquiry into the generative and dynamic relationships between human experience, the environments we inhabit and the encounters that shape us.

I often use walking to lift the lid on life and uncover new themes, motifs and materials to work with. I’m also a collector of lost and discarded ephemera, curious relics of human endeavour and often-overlooked natural wonders. Through investigating the physical and conceptual properties of these accumulations, I seek to uncover hidden narratives, latent energies and potential to inform, transform or become artefacts.

As one third of artist trio Room to Manoeuvre, a member of Sapphire Blue Collective, and the current lead of CAMP Writers’ Kin, working closely with other creatives is an important aspect of my practice and includes collaborative projects, skills sharing, and producing and curating exhibitions and events that promote access to the arts.

Lived Experience

My work is held in public and private collections, and I regularly exhibit in galleries and other contexts in London and the South West (UK).

I’m a member of various arts organisations including a-n, Creative Kernow Associates, and Contemporary Art Membership Platform (CAMP) a 230 strong member-led support and professional development network for creatives based in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. In February 2025, I completed a two year tenure as a CAMP Co-Director responsible for helping to ensure the smooth running of the organisation, strategic development and member care.
