Emily Haysom

Ely
Visual artist

I am an artist and  landscape architect. I make art as an ongoing reflection on life. Words and visual form express the stories I am surrounded with - those of others and my own.  I am curious about how people are connected, or disconnected, and our sense of belonging, or unbelonging, in the world.

In my landscape research I use art as a contemplative discipline to explore the extent to which we live in conflict or collaboration with natural systems.

While part of my practice is connective and socially engaged, I draw strength from quiet observation through drawing, painting and writing.
