My work is all about plastic and the one use item, highlighting the blight on the land. educating with facts through my art.
Over the past 5 years i have set up, own and run a Zero Waste Shop called Buy the Kilo, we have a one wall gallery in our shop, Buy the Kilo Gallery and have a monthly exhibition programme which I Curate. We have exhibited over 40 artists from around the UK and Europe since we opened. All with environmental issues at the heart of their practice. www.buy-the-kilo.com
My practice is all about highlighting plastic on the land and in the sea, i recycle plastic carrier bags into my work, reusing and recycling them over and over again. They are a blight and although my work may look beautiful from afar, when you look up close and realise it is made from plastic bags, its quite hideous, as is plastic in our environment.
