James Sutton

Lincoln
Sculptor working in predominantly metal and stone, specialising in stainless steel and marble. Mostly working to commission creating public art and personal works.

James Sutton - Artist, sculptor and community arts facilitator based in the East Midlands.

I work in a variety of materials but specialise in carving stone and sculptural metalwork. I regularly exhibit throughout the country and produce work to commission for private clients and create public art for councils and organisations.

My Studio is based on Hall Farm in Gainsborough and is set up to facilitate the creation of large scale stone carvings, next to my studio is a working blacksmiths forge and a barn kitted out with industrial metal working equipment.

I specialise in creating site specific public art, working with communities to inform the design, ensuring that it is personal and individual to the site.

In the past I have run all kinds of Creative Workshops for the community, working with all ages and abilities from care homes to primary schools, people with special needs, mental health difficulties and isolated groups in the community.
