My work is an exploration of the feeling of landscape through colour . The spirit of a place and the particular qualities of light are often my starting point. Freedom from the necessity of depiction heightens the focus on colour, visual sensations, associations and resonances. Using oil and acrylic paint on canvas, I work in an intuitive way to discover something in the process of painting. There are layers and painterly incidents which reveal something of this process.
