WORTHING
Tiny Act performances filmed/edited to tell a story + zine platforms + environmental actions = opportunities for critical engagement with social justice.

Covid had a big impact on my social practice as an artist.

From inviting passersby on the street to think and talk about everyday social justice, covid shifted me to making Tiny Acts that start on the ‘street’ and invite conversations online. Audiences may change, intentions continue, disruptions happen.

Since 7th November 2021, live artist Michelle Woolley and I have been making Tiny Acts every week, sharing inspirations and intentions with each other, though in different spaces; a different type of collaboration. My own live performances only take shape once filmed and edited, with those processes becoming part of the performance #filmasliveperformance.

And as a postscript to six years being co-librarian of the Just In Case Zine Library that toured widely, my collaged zines now interweave with those Tiny Act performances. Sometimes the zines lead, sometimes they follow.
