Carnforth
Process based visual artist exploring oppositions between nature and culture, materiality and concept. Interdisciplinary work connects sculpture, archive, moving image with ephemeral interventions

A process-based visual artist, exploring colour alchemy, wild spaces, the fugitive nature of matter. Engaging with folklore, rituual and science. Challenging cultural myths through art practice. Sustainable, ecological, metaphysical. I believe art can function both as a spacing and a sensing of the shared separation we are currently experiencing. Member of the ecoart network.

Artist Statement

I am a visual artist working with film-making, installation and sculpture combined with socially engaged encounters and interventions. Critical writing is another important facet within my practice. My work is influenced by the human condition and the proposed era of Anthropocene, responding to existing tensions between culture and the natural environment. Through a process of investigation I explore the unconscious connections between ritual, myth, materiality and function. Member of the ecoart network
