Sue Corr
I work as a printmaker, painter, creative ‘book arts’ maker and workshop facilitator in my own studio space. I have been involved with various projects, collaborations and exhibitions both nationally and internationally in Columbia, Quebec, Colorado, Australia, Paris and Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow and the Scottish Highlands.
I now live in the stunning highlands of Scotland, whose celtic land I first encountered and connected deeply with as a child. I remember being thoroughly delighted and intrigued by the bouncy, peaty earth in the forests and overwhelmed with the utter beauty and wildness of the landscape.
I continue to carry these childhood passionate feelings and need intimacy and interaction with nature and wild open spaces: preferably snow covered or oceanic. My lively and spontaneous abstract imagery is therefore a response to this. I love it when random visual connections begin to emerge and they weave their magic within the fabric of my practice. For me it signifies I am on the right path.
