A Mother's Love

Inherited christening robe and clothing labels This work is an homage to all the small unseen acts we do as mothers. I was given this handmade christening robe by my mother-in-law, made for her sons from her own wedding dress. She also gave me all the labels saved and collected from her sons’ uniforms. These I have sewn and made visible on the garment. Usually hidden, they represent small acts of love, often repetitive and mundane: the patience and longevity of a mother’s love.
