A String of Snares

A String of Snares is a series of twelve penguin-book-page-sized sgraffito drawings in oil on wood. It is a response to my first real longterm stay in a rural environment ( the Rheidol Valley near Aberystwyth), and arose out of the development of a friendship with a local horse breeder and trap collector. Many of the objects, designed to sit on a shelf rather than hang on a wall, were made during an enforced sojourn in a motel room after an operation, and were shown in Swarm Society at Ceredigion Museum in 2014.
