A tribute to the poet Edward Thomas

By  Liz Clifford 2016 - 2017

Liz Clifford

I was asked to make work for display at The Petersfield Museum in April 2017 as part of a series of events curated by Hampshire Cultural Trust to mark the centenary of the death of the poet Edward Thomas at the Battle of Arras. I have taken 3 of the poems Thomas wrote about the specific landscape of the Hampshire Hangers where I live and walk daily as my starting point for the installation. The work will use found objects from my walks as well as photographic material and maps. Inspired by the Word runs from 4th to 22nd April 2017 Petersfield Museum The Old Courthouse St Peters Rd Petersfield GU32 3HX Tuesday to Saturday 10am - 4pm
