A Tale

By  Liz Clifford 2017
A mixed media response to the 1914 poem of the same title by Edward Thomas, killed at the battle of Arras in 1917. This work was made for an exhibition to mark the centenary of Thomas' death held at Petersfield Museum 4 - 22 April 2017. The materials used in the work were collected while walking daily in the same landscape that Thomas knew and described 100 years ago. Photograph, chalk and found objects embedded in chalk.
