I climbed over the gate into the derelict battery factory. I was with the NGO Funds For Refugees in Slovenia to bear witness as a war artist. Now here I was alone where the killing had started. It felt that no one had been here for a long time. It felt haunted and abandoned. Well I was here to make drawings and drawings I would make. This haunting feeling has never left me and this acrylic, ink and PVA painting is one of my responses.
