Archive II

Archive II comprises part of a dismantled typewriter, with a lithograph, suspended luggage labels, and keys. The lithograph is a photograph of my mother on her wedding day, printed over with a reference written about her at the end of the Second World War. The luggage labels have photographs on them of five generations of my family. The typewriter is a linking theme in my exploration of the family archive, in part because of documents I came across in doing my research and in part because my mother was skilled in shorthand and typing.
