As a Matter of Water Course

By  Arron Kuiper 2017
This piece is about relationships, origins, and dependency in a number of contrasting landscapes along a watercourse, each variance occurring at different elevations. Although much of the Welsh landscape was formed by glacial activity, Wales is now a nation of streams, rivers, and waterfalls which are present in and partly responsible for the majority of it’s most beautiful and unique scenery. Described here are the ways in which rain, running water, and ice have shaped Welsh stone and valleys; how they ultimately engineer the landscape by bringing nutrients and hydration to the flora that flourishes here, which in turn shape the land by developing eco-systems and habitats.
