Aura Exhibition

Dates given above are for the forthcoming Aura exhibition which will be held at The King's Manor in York and feature exciting work by talented guest jewellers from Wales and Germany. It will be the fourth annual Aura exhibition to be held, the first having been held 22 October - 23 October 2005, at Burton Agnes Hall.
I had the idea for the exhibition earlier that year and was grateful to receive a positive reaction when I put the proposal to the owner of Burton Agnes Hall, Mrs Susan Cunlifffe-Lister. I then gathered together our core group of exhibitors/organiser comprising Jacqueline Stieger, Jacqueline Warrington, Emma Sedman and myself. Between the four of us we have found the resources to promote and stage the exhibtion, with Emma creating the printed graphics, myself the online info, and all friends and family helping out with everything from electrical expertise to heavy lifting!
The second and third 'Aura's also took place at Burton Agnes Hall, where we were joined by our invited international groups of guest jewellers, selected in Amsterdam (2006) and Florence (2007).
This year will be the first one to be held in York, at The Kings Manor, where we regular Yorkshire exhibitors will be joined by guest jewellers from Wales selected by Mari Thomas in association with Emma Sedman and guest jewellers from Germany selected by Tania Gallas and Kristina Schuhmacher, with whom I have previously exhibited.
Aura is an independent, not-for-profit organistation, with the objective of raising the profile and celebrating the diversity and quality of studio jewellery. We hope it will become part of a growing network of artist-run enterprises and collaborations.
