best intentions 2021

By  barbara beyer 2021
Part of the Waveney and Blyth Annual Sculpture Trail "Sculpture in the Valley" "Best Intentions" is a site specific work that responds to the common practise of strapping young trees between wooden stalks to encourage straight growth. Using the same procedure I strapped clay cylinders between wooden supports when they are still soft resulting in deformation and distortion. The cylinders were fired and placed in the newly planted Orchard at Potton Hall, Suffolk.
