Wells Art Contemporary

By  barbara beyer 2022
Wells Art Contemporary (WAC), returns in 2022 for its 11th edition. This year’s exhibition received over 3,200 submissions from 1,600 creatives, hailing from 47 different countries. After much deliberation, the judging panel of Matthew Burrows MBE, Dale Lewis and Nana Shiomi, selected a shortlist of 120 artworks from 111 artists. The shortlisted artworks showcase an array of disciplines and mediums across painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture and installation. 29 site specific installations have also been selected by Clare Burnett and Jacquiline Creswell, standing as interventional responses to the architectural, spatial and spiritual aspects of Wells Cathedral. The WAC 2022 exhibition will be on display from Saturday 30 July to Sunday 28 August 2022 in Wells Cathedral and online.
