A 'one off' book with a 'French door' construction, which unfolds so that the two halves face the centre - a construction which allows each page to interact with different facing pages. Each page is different, with insertions of batiks, maps, diagrams, drawing and digital print. The box is integral to the piece, made from a core of wood, covered with gesso, then encaustic collage. A book which explores the idea of shadows, - fragments that linger, memories, marks, stains, signatures and texts left behind, sometimes faded and disintegrated. Some batiks are new, while others are recycled - references to earlier pieces, which once had significance. The fragments move through a continuously changing and dissolving sea of colour. Book of Shadows is in the collection of Atelier Vis a Vis (Book Project Internationale, Marseilles)
