Cain & his Son Enoch

Cain and his Son Enoch 160 x 160 cm. Oil on canvas ( installation Shot ) this piece is a large canvas and was painted very speedily. I enjoy the point of departure in the handling of the colour and brushwork. The composition has a psychedelic, Neo-gothic tinge to it that both troubles and pleases me. I need painting to dramatically move me one way or another. Nothing ever feels quite right as a painter and I guess it never should perhaps. A sense of the uncanny prevailing always.
