I’ve been experimenting with the potentials of the bookmark unit through making calligraphic drawings.
This couple represent the Martenitsa amulets of Bulgarian folklore / popular folk culture.
The dolls in the portraits were a Martenitsa gift from a Bulgarian friend as part of the Martenitsa springtime celebration.
I tried making some Martenitsa dolls and pom-poms from a traditional pattern.
