Close knit took a decade to make, it's an unusual family album exploring family history, textile process, landscape and loss.
Using the first knit stitch my mum taught me Close Knit records and commemorates my family, linking people and place.
Making the work involved research, sensitive detective work and travel throughout the UK.
The knits function in dual ways, they unify and identify the plots and lairs as important, while simultaneously concealing the identities of the interred, giving no clue as to my relationship to them.
