"Cold Change ".

By  Tim Pugh 2016
The installation is part of a series of artworks I created in response to the referendum on leaving the E.U. I was upset about the decision and in response created mirror works ,sketching maps of the U.K.on to mirror surfaces with marker pen and filling in text from my poll card.I then placed the mirrors in the sea and photographed the effects of the tide depositing sand across the surfaces .The visual effects of sand sweeping across Scotland and Northern England were reminiscent of weather maps, blasts of cold air sweeping across the landscape, hence the idea of cold change affecting the UK and as a metaphor for an uncertain future.
