When archiving my body of prints i came across the early ones made some 25 years ago when just beginning to learn the art of printmaking. I etched onto zinc, cut, scratched and carved onto acetates and card.
My idea of a collaboration to transform the prints offered Ursula Pretsch an opportunity to create contemporary artist(ic) books which could present artwork both on the outside and as the very content. She wanted to give the ‘Cyclone whirl’ & ‘Cavepainting’ bundle and the ‘Mapping’ series their own destination and achieve a different look, feel and experience when opening each book. So she decided to create one book stitch-only and the other glue-only.
