Common Land. Common Spaces

By  Cas Holmes 2017
I recently exhibited in a one person show Common Land, Common Spaces at the Farnham Pottery with a new installation ‘Trees’ . The term 'Common' in English means to 'belong equally to' or 'shared equally and is used to denote areas of land used by all, historically for grazing, catching wild game and gathering plants. Over recent months I have been reflecting on issues of Landscape and the connections with painting and cloth in writing for my forthcoming book for Batsford.( More new on that as it progresses towards publication in 2018.) see more on http://casholmes.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/common-land-common-spaces.html
