Correspondence 7, Nansen in Transit

This is one of the correspondence series of works which relate to internet exchanges. Here the image is derived from a photograph of Nansen the polar explorer, seen on the net, though not a faithful representation of the original. The final layer of the painting covered with a 'veil-like' surface, near pointillist marks that both represent falling snow, and a screen-like effect. A secondary series exploring the latter technique and related ideas is now being developed.
