#DarkEcologicalAesthetics

By Paul R Jones 2025

“In today's world, we find ourselves caught between opposing forces that shape our experience. Digital content can be copied endlessly, while physical objects inevitably age and fade. Computer simulations strive for flawless precision, yet real-world items bear the beautiful marks of wear and imperfection. As technology races forward at breakneck speed, the natural process of decay continues at its own unchanging pace. Rather than seeking to resolve these tensions, we might instead pause to examine them closely, acknowledging how they reflect our own existence—living as we do in an increasingly virtual world while remaining bound to our physical, fragile reality. This interplay between the digital and material realms sparks an unease worth exploring, as we navigate a present where the boundaries between simulation and substance grow ever more blurred.”
