'Data Profile 1', shown at the exhibition 'Photo-ID: Photographers and Scientists explore Identity', CAN '09, 2009.
The Data Profiles series envisions fragments from an imagined fictional archive of 21st century identity, equivalent to nineteenth century categorisations and taxonomies of human identity. The notion of the profile is used to bring together portraiture with genetic profiling, criminal profiling, consumer profiling, and related privacy issues. The series aims to give visual form to encoded encryptions of personal data, using photography and 3D software, to create geometric mathematically generated 3D data portraits or 'profiles'.
