Dodecahedron sculpture depicting images of cosmic particle trails. Plato described the dodecahedron as ‘a fifth construction, which the god used for embroidering the constellations on the whole heaven.’ The fifth platonic solid was said to be holding the stars in the heavens, just as dark matter is now believed to do. There is also a theory that the universe could be the shape of a dodecahedron, as in Poincaré dodecahedral space
