Domestic Handbag – fridge: originally I cast wax handbags that had reliefs of domestic objects on the surface. The bags were the start of domestic thread in my work and were made in the 1990s; the intention was always to cast them in glass. Finally in 2021 I worked collaboratively with the glass artist Roberta De Caro to cast them in glass. The next stage of the piece was working with the photographer Martin Urmson to photograph the bags in the fridge, returning them to a domestic environment. The final piece is two light boxes with Duran trans and the glass bags set alongside.
