Surveillance was made as part of Cicatrix: Call & Response for the Salisbury International Arts Festival. Set in the garden at The Rifles Museum 4 plaster cast sculptures on juniper branch tripods stand observing or protecting. A further tower houses 3 red view-masters which visitors looked through to see images that related to the presence of New Zealand troops on Salisbury Plain during WW1. These contrasted with images from Fort Takapuna in New Zealand. Cicatrix artists created new work to show alongside the sound installation piece from their NZ cultural exchange guest, Caro Williams. This exhibition marked the first leg of their journey to include artists from three Commonwealth countries, remembering the troops representing these nations - on Salisbury Plain since WW1.
